Fall in love this Christmas, with the residents of Goldebury Bay

Poppy knows what she wants for Christmas.

Poppy Taylor is tired of playing gooseberry to her loved-up friends. She wants a man of her own to snuggle up with in time for the holidays – and Christmas Day is only ninety days away.

She’s set her sights firmly on the new man in town: property developer and all-round nice guy, Toby Blackwood. Poppy’s hoping it won’t just be the wood burner in her cottage keeping her warm as the cold, dark nights draw in…

But Toby’s obnoxious, older brother Ryan, a self-made millionaire, makes it abundantly clear that he has other plans for Toby and he’s not going to let Poppy get in his way.

I am absolutely loving the Goldebury Bay series of book. This is the third one, and they can all be read as standalone, although if you love series where you have recurring characters and its the main one that changes each time, from a friendship group, then you may want to check out the other books in the series too.

Poppy is fed up with all of her friends pairing up, and she desperately doesn't want to be single for Christmas this year. When she meets Toby Blackwood at her friends party, she is convinced he is the man for her, the one who will be snuggling up to her Christmas morning.

What she doesn't count on, is Toby's family showing up in Goldebury Bay, and especially his older brother Ryan, who seems to have an issue with Toby and Poppy having a relationship.

Well they do say the course of true love doesn't run smooth, and it is never more apparent than in this story. This is a very romantic book, some fabulous romantic gestures, and a fair amount of drama thrown in for good measure.

It was brilliant to see the continuing stories of Cleo, Sophie, Thaddeus and Oliver, who are Poppy's close group of friends, and made me feel like I had never been apart from Goldebury Bay. I am really hoping this isn't the last we have seen of these characters, as I really do love them all.

I'd also like to mention, that although Christmas is mentioned in the title, it really does focus on the ninety days to the lead up to Christmas, and its not purely focusing on the festive season, so if you are thinking about reading this not at Christmas time, its not overpowing throughout the story, however the scenes featuring Christmas Eve, will make you wish it was Christmas party season already!

Ninety Days to Christmas is a wonderful romantic comedy, there are sections that will make you laugh out loud, Poppy getting stuck springs to mind, as does some of her banter with Ryan, there is an over the top romantic gesture which gets a mixed reaction from the ladies, and there is a high action heart pumping bit of drama that was quick and intense. Oh and the party to celebrate the lunar eclipse (which happens on 28th September in real life), is definitely not to be missed.

I think Ninety Days to Christmas is a fabulous story, just the right mix of its various components, and was a delight and pleasure to read.  I was hooked at around 20%, and didn't want to put the book down at all.
